Gifting my friends on special occasions has always been a big issue for me. And to top that I do not seem to learn from my mistakes. Almost every time I get myself in a situation where it is only before a couple of days that I start the process of thinking as to what should the gift be.
In fact, the key element in my last girl friend leaving me was that I forgot to gift her maternal uncle on his 21st marriage anniversary. Poor old me, if only she knew that her uncle himself had forgotten the auspicious occasion. Jokes apart, but this question seems to haunt me every time round.
Now, my friend has decided to tie the knot and get married and we all are very happy for him, apart from the fact that the question has popped up again. I cannot give him cash, coz that’ll make him look poor. I can’t get myself to buy and gift him home articles like – Microwave, Bed Sheets, Toaster etc. Cameras and watches are a passe. He is too busy for a planned date(of course with his wife). So, what am I supposed to gift that guy.
Tried getting help from google, but the searches really do not come with any options apart the above. The “New Gift Ideas” searches always end up showing ideas which are the most used.
The last thing I’ll end up doing is, may call up the guy and take him around a mall and ask him to buy what he wants (of course … I’ll pay). But, that’s so uncool.
Lets see may be another day or two of head banging sessions might help me crop up some innovative ideas. Or else might end up using the last one mentioned above. Any way what does the term Being Uncool mean.
