Friends, Food and an Evening

First thing this isn’t a restaurant review or even about the food and ambience. You can visit one of the many websites only dedicated for such reviews on the internet. This is about just an experience, a more of an afterthought, a hangover of sorts about an evening very well spent.

…the foodie within me hadn’t had any adventure or a new experience of late so I with a couple of friends decided to avoid the Ghar ka Khana for a change and go out exploring. The enthusiastic folks that we are, the itch to try something new ended as soon as we stepped outside in traffic filled road … wow Mumbai.

Moods changed, boredom settled in and finally decision was made to end our instinctive – over enthusiastic food excursion. But, we had to eat something, because as mentioned earlier we had already lost the safe bet of home food. So, finally after playing the blame game and arguing for eternity we decided to visit 5 Spice.

Hmm … Yeah I need to accept without shame, staying in Mumbai for the past 25 years and this was the first time that I actually stepped in this restaurant. Had heard a lot about its ambience and food from people and internet, but never had gone there.

So, here we were. A gang of friends, in the late twenties, trying to spend an evening in the College ka Bindaas Style, to break from the Stereotype office hours. But, it wasn’t to be… At least that’s what we thought till that point.
Sitting in the eatery food was actually the last thing on our mind. We were all busy, it stared from cursing each other for spoiling a well (not so) planned evening. But by the end we all realized that this is what we actually wanted. No plans, no strategy, no targets, no Standup Meeting, no MOMs just some plain fun. And as long as we all were together, it did not matter whether it was a run all over the city or just a quite dinner in a crowded restaurant.

By the time we left the place, it wasn’t anymore about the food and the ambience, the taste. We all had actually set the mood for the evening, everyone was in full swing, we had actually made the not so perfect evening a perfect experience. If someone would ask me if 5 Spice is a good place. I would definitely agree and recommend it to him. Not because of the what it is actually famous for, but more so because some people made it special for me there.

This is what an experience is! ..and, when with friends, the very same experience gets added by an altogether new dimension. Liked the way you put it in words; ‘ hangover of sort….’. That is exactly what it is – An indescribable feel good factor.

If you have visited any other places, that you liked; ‘What you can do is, you can visit our site – http://www.mumbaikar.com/en – and if you may, can share your experience with us. We will be glad to hear from you.

    Regards.
